Am I eligible?

To qualify for a Federal Stafford Loan from NextStudent, you need to file yourFAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and meet certain eligibility requirements:

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

  • Hold a high school diploma or GED
  • Enrolled or accepted as at least a half-time student in an eligible undergraduate program
  • Maintaining satisfactory academic progress, as determined by your school
  • Registered with the Selective Service if you’re male and between the ages of 18 and 25
  • Not in default on any federal student loans
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident

GRADUATE STUDENTS

  • Enrolled or accepted as at least a half-time student in an eligible graduate or professional degree program
  • Maintaining satisfactory academic progress, as determined by your school
  • Registered with the Selective Service if you’re male and between the ages of 18 and 25
  • Not in default on any federal college loans
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
